How do you export electronics to Saudi Arabia?

Short answer

Start from the HS code, confirm the product is regulated (electronics almost always are), and map the prerequisite stack before you touch SABER: CST type approval for anything wireless, IECEE recognition via JEEM for in-scope products, RoHS documentation, energy-efficiency registration. Run those in parallel, then register on SABER through a Saudi importer, pick a Certification Body, get the PCoC, and request an SCoC per shipment before the goods arrive.

Map the prerequisite stack first

For electronics SABER is the last registration step, not the first. Before it:

Then SABER

Run those tracks in parallel. Then register on SABER (you need a Saudi importer with a valid Commercial Registration), pick a Certification Body, and get the PCoC. Per shipment, request the SCoC before the goods arrive — it is valid 90 days (extended from 60 in September 2026), so time it against the sailing schedule.

One technical trap for IT and audio/video gear: the required safety standard is IEC 62368-1; the older IEC 60950-1 is no longer accepted. Confirm the standard with your Certification Body before paying for any testing.

Realistic timeline

A wireless product starting from zero is realistically 7–12 weeks before the vessel departs (6–10 weeks on official service times alone — CBs commonly run longer). If the factory already holds compliant CB reports, the two SABER certificate steps themselves are about 6–8 working days of official service time; the calendar around them still depends on your CB and your documents.
